2011 Minister’s Conference
To My Brothers in Christ,
It has been nearly a year since we have been together, and I hope this letter finds you all well and in good spirits. I have been praying for each one you, your families, and your respective ministries. Please accept this short note as my personal invitation for you to come join us this year during our annual session. The theme of this year’s conference is The Bible: Interpretation, Appropriation, and Authority.
We had an extremely fruitful time last year as we reflected on Wounded Healers. This year, however, after some prayerful consideration, I felt the need for us to do something a bit more on the scholarly side. We will be having a discussion about the Bible. We will be considering the nature of our sacred texts, how we interpret them faithfully, and how to appropriate meanings that are relevant to our context and that represent true (as best as we can) authorial intention. I think we must all agree that we benefit from more thoughtful, careful, and thorough examinations of the Bible. I am convinced that there are deeper and richer meanings, and perhaps even some surprises, that we may yet mine from its pages. Bring your tools as you come, they are sure to be sharpened by our sharing together! I hope you are up for the challenge!

My brothers, you are in my thoughts and prayers and I look forward to seeing you next month in our annual session. I am expecting an exciting and inspiring time as we fellowship together! May GOD bless and keep you!
